The European Commission has blocked the proposed merger of Telefonica UK’s O2 network with Hutchison’s Three.
It said it was concerned that the deal would have harmed innovation, reduced consumer choice and caused prices to rise.

Mobile network EE says it’s going to move its telephone-based customer service operation back to the UK and Ireland by the end of this year.
In addition, the network has confirmed its commitment to improving 4G coverage, aiming to reach 95% UK geographical coverage by 2020. Current EE coverage is 60% of the UK landmass.

The Vodafone M-Pesa mobile money transfer service is being used by more than 25 million customers, the company has revealed.
For the 12 months until 31st March 2016, the number of active M-Pesa customers increased by 27.1%.
