Back in 2013, Samsung announced its curved Galaxy Round smartphone and LG revealed the LG G Flex.

LG has now followed up on this innovation with the G Flex2, which has a sharper but slightly smaller display and a more powerful chip.

The LG G Flex2 (model H955) runs Android 5.0 on a 2GHz 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. It’s equipped with a 5.5-inch Full HD screen and a 13-megapixel camera with Laser auto-focus. As with the previous model, there’s a ‘self-healing’ back cover that can remove minor scratches.

According to LG, the curved shape brings the microphone closer to the mouth, is easier to hold and is easier to view than a conventional device.

Juno Cho, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said “The original G Flex demonstrated LG’s pioneering spirit and with the G Flex2 we have refined the curved form factor, staying true to our philosophy of innovation for a better life. The G Flex2 not only has the stunning looks, it also has the powerful guts to be at the cutting edge of current smartphone technology. Simply put, it’s a true head-turner in every sense of the word.”

The LG G Flex2 is expected to be available in the UK from February.
