New research commissioned by Azzurri Communications and carried out by Vanson Bourne has found that most medium and large-sized UK businesses are already using or planning to use Unified Communications. In total, 76% of respondents said they were pursuing a UC strategy.

Rufus Grig, Chief Technology Officer at Azzurri Communications, said “UC as a concept has a chequered history. It’s often seen as a buzzword created by vendors to sell their own proprietary products, rather than for customer benefit. But IT leaders in the UK are filtering out the hype and pursuing their own vision of UC, mixing and matching communications technologies and choosing the ones best suited for their own requirements. They’re still cost-conscious, but are seeking to improve employee productivity and to demonstrate tangible benefit back to the business.”

VoIP telephony was the technology that respondents were most likely to consider as part of a Unified Communications solution (84%), with video conferencing (74%) and instant messaging (64%) also proving popular. Just 48% chose conventional fixed line telephony.

Azzurri has used the research findings from the research to develop a ‘UC Maturity Model’ that helps it offer personalised recommendations to businesses considering Unified Communications.

Mark Bridge writes:

The most memorable moments in life often go unrecorded. You don't have your camera in your hands. Your finger is still hovering over the 'pause' button on your audio recorder. Or you were simply too busy experiencing whatever was happening. It's all about the one that got away.

That's where Kapture can help.
