Samsung has launched two new premium smartphones ahead of this week’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge will both run Android v5.0 on an octa-core (quad 2.1GHz + quad 1.5GHz) processor and are both equipped with a 5.1-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixel ) Super AMOLED display. A significant difference between the two phones is the curved display that wraps round both sides of the S6 edge.

Andy Griffiths, President of Samsung Electronics UK and Ireland, said “With the all new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, Samsung is offering what’s next in mobility, along with a new standard to drive the global mobile agenda. By listening to our customers we continuously push forward new technologies and ideas. With a reimagined design, robust partner network and novel services, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge do just this, offering users two completely differentiated products that deliver the ultimate in smartphone options.”

With bodies constructed from metal and Corning Gorilla Glass 4, the two devices are available in a range of colours. They’ll go on sale globally from 10th April 2015.
