Apple and Samsung have decided to end all legal action against each other, with the exception of cases in the USA.

According to a joint statement reported by Bloomberg.com and the BBC, the agreement “does not involve any licensing arrangements”.

In 2011, Apple claimed Samsung had copied aspects of its iPhone and iPad devices. Since then, each company has taken patent-related legal action against the other’s mobile phones and tablets in a number of countries.

Earlier this year, a US court ruled that Samsung had infringed Apple patents and implemented a £71 million penalty. It also said that Apple had infringed a Samsung patent, although the fine was much smaller.
