New Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge smartphones to go on sale from April

Samsung has launched two new premium smartphones ahead of this week’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge will both run Android v5.0 on an octa-core (quad 2.1GHz + quad 1.5GHz) processor and are both equipped with a 5.1-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixel ) Super AMOLED display. A significant difference between the two phones is the curved display that wraps round both sides of the S6 edge.

There’s a 16 megapixel camera on the rear and a 5 megapixel camera on the front, with photo features including real-time High Dynamic Range and Smart Optical Image Stabilisation. Both phones offer wireless charging compatible with WPC (Qi) and PMA (including Powermat) standards.

With bodies constructed from metal and Corning Gorilla Glass 4, the two devices are available in a range of colours. They’ll go on sale globally from 10th April 2015.
