Mobile ticket and payment specialist Masabi has appointed Brian Zanghi as its Chief Executive Officer and President. He replaces co-founder Ben Whitaker, who will remain with the company as its new Head of Innovation.

Masabi is best known for the mobile ticketing solution it supplies to railways in the UK and the USA.

Brian Zanghi was CEO of social marketing software company Awareness until 2013 and had previously been CEO of CRM business Kadient.

Ben Whitaker said “Masabi is already a firm fixture in both US and UK transit markets. We are delighted that Brian will be leading us on the next phase of our growth as we take our services and innovation global. His background and skills are a fantastic addition as we expand our services to transform transit payments and create the foundations for the connected Smart Cities of the future.”

We spoke to Ben Whitaker back in 2010. You can listen to the interview via the built-in audio player on our website or by downloading the MP3 file.
