Facebook mobile payments go live in the UK via Bango

Mobile payment provider Bango says its integration with Facebook is now live, enabling the social network to bill customers via their mobile networks in the UK, Germany and the USA.

The partnership was first announced in February and will be expanded to work in other countries later this year.

Bango says half of all mobile connections it processes arrive via WiFi

Mobile analytics and payment company Bango says over 50% of mobile user connections to the internet are being made via WiFi.

A year ago the company calculated that 23% of mobile website visits were connected through WiFi.

Mobile in-app billing revenue less than expected in 2010 - but 600% growth expected next year

Mobile billing and analytics company Bango says in-app billing – selling additional features or services from within a mobile application – hasn’t been as popular as expected this year. Less than 5% of payments billed through its mobile payments platform in 2010 were for in-app billing.

Web browsing from Android smartphones is up 400% this year

Mobile analytics and payment company Bango Inc says the volume of mobile web browsing from Android phones grew by 400% in the USA between Q1 and Q2 2010. The volume of growth from Apple devices was just 13% during the same period.
