A new report from Counterpoint Research's Market Monitor service shows European smartphone shipments dropping by 12% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022. That's the lowest Q1 total since 2013.

Consumer protection organisation Which? has been given permission by the UK's Competition Appeal Tribunal to represent Apple and Samsung smartphone buyers in a legal case against chip manufacturer Qualcomm.

The latest Samsung Unpacked event has revealed the company's new premium Android-powered smartphone range: the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, which includes the S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra.

Samsung Electronics has renamed its mobile business, describing this as "the start of a new chapter to accelerate innovation to offer more personalized experiences to its users".

Samsung's latest 'Galaxy Unpacked' event has revealed four new products: two phones with folding screens, a smart watch and wireless ear buds.

Can you trust a Chinese company to build a telecoms network?  Apparently not, according to the US House of Representatives. The “Investigative Report on the U.S. National Security Issues Posed by Chinese Telecommunications Companies Huawei and ZTE” wasn’t at all impressed with the two companies, although most of the complaints appeared to be about a lack of cooperation rather than hard evidence. I wonder if any mysterious agents are planning to visit the new Huawei UK HQ before next year’s official opening?
