Interphone 'mobile phone cancer' study leaks again

We've previously talked about the long-awaited Interphone study into the possible cancer risks of using mobile phones. It now looks as though the results will be published on Tuesday 18th May, although that hasn't stopped media speculation from starting early.

Vodafone UK and Talkmobile offer a pay-as-you-go overdraft

Talkmobile, which operates a mobile phone service on the Vodafone UK network, has launched an 'overdraft facility' for its Pay As You Go customers. The Lifesaver service allows Talkmobile’s prepay customers to borrow £1 when they run out of credit. This is automatically repaid when they next top-up, along with a 10p service charge.

A quarter of US households are mobile-only

Figures from the latest National Health Interview Survey conducted by the National Center for Health Statistics say that 24.5% of all households in the USA – almost a quarter - do not have a landline telephone but have at least one mobile phone.

Approximately 22.9% of all adults and 25.9% of all children live in households that only have mobiles. That's two out of every nine adults, compared with 2 of every 11 adults at the end of 2008 and 2 out of every 17 adults at the end of 2006.
