Facebook has launched a mobile advertising network at its F8 developers conference, giving app developers a new option for monetising their applications.

The Facebook Audience Network offers the same level of targeting as Facebook’s browser-based ads.

Telefonica blames 'error' and 'oversight' for O2 ads that breached UK advertising code

Two complaints about promotional material for Telefonica’s O2 Travel service have been upheld by the UK Advertising Standards Authority.

An in-flight magazine ad promoted O2 Travel without mentioning the daily limit, while the O2 website promoted a collection of apps and services for travellers but didn’t explain how much data these could use.

Samsung Electronics has announced a new smartphone called the Samsung Galaxy K zoom.

It’s an Android device with a 10x optical zoom lens and a 20.7 megapixel sensor, along with optical image stabilisation and full HD video recording.

The use of tablet computers by older people has more than trebled in just 12 months

The number of people aged 65-74 who are using a tablet computer to go online has more than trebled within a year.

New figures from Ofcom show an increase from 5% of these older people using internet-connected tablets in 2012 to 17% of older people in 2013.
