Advertising-funded virtual network Samba Mobile has closed down in the UK… just a month after rival MVNO Ovivo Mobile ceased trading.
Samba Mobile was formed in 2010 and launched its mobile network in 2012.

Adobe, Apple, Google, and Intel have settled a court case that claimed they’d conspired to suppress employee pay by agreeing not to actively recruit or ‘poach’ each other’s employees. The claims covered a period from 2005 until 2009.
Although the terms of the settlement are confidential at the moment, they’re due to become public when court papers are filed in May.

A new research report from telecoms analyst Berg Insight expects the total value of the real-time mobile location-based advertising and marketing market to reach €10.7 billion (£8.8 billion) in 2018.
That’s a compound annual growth rate of 54% when compared with last year’s global total of €1.2 billion.

EE reaches 72% UK population coverage
The Welsh town of Rhyl has become the 200th town or city in the UK to receive 4G mobile phone service from EE.
This brings the network’s coverage to 72% of the UK population.

Nokia has sold most of its Devices & Services business to Microsoft, as originally announced in September last year. The deal also includes an agreement to license patents to Microsoft.
Although the deal was originally worth €5.44 billion (£4.48 billion), Nokia says it now expects the total transaction price to be slightly higher than this.
