Sony Ericsson has been censured by the Advertising Standards Authority after the TV ad for its Satio mobile phone suggested the handset was available with a Facebook application. However, the existing Facebook app was neither pre-installed nor compatible with the phone. Sony Ericsson admitted that a software problem had meant the Facebook application had initially not been available for the phone, although this problem has now been resolved.

One of the highlights of this week's Mobile World Congress is the GSMA Global Mobile Awards. This year they were presented in a two-part ceremony by Stephen Fry, who hosted both the afternoon and evening events.

DoCoMo are one of many network operators and handset manufacturers demonstrating innovative new products as Mobile World Congress. Our eye was caught by the employee demonstrating “Eye Controlled Earphones”. It’s a good job the ladies from the CBOSS stand weren’t walking past at the time.
