Microsoft has officially revealed Windows Phone 8, its mobile operating system that’ll be available on previously-announced smartphones from Nokia, Samsung and HTC from next month.
The company says Windows Phone 8 is built to work seamlessly with Windows 8 computers, Microsoft Surface tablet devices, the Xbox 360 game console and the SkyDrive cloud storage service.

Nokia Corporation has published its quarterly results for the third quarter of 2012. Net sales were down 19% on the same quarter last year to €7.24 billion and the company made a much bigger loss than it did in Q3 2011: €576 million compared with €71 million last year.
However, the loss was less than the two previous quarters.

Microsoft has put an official date for the Windows Phone 8 mobile OS in the diary.
It’ll be talking about - and presumably demonstrating - Windows Phone 8 to the press in San Francisco on 29th October, just a few days after the launch of its tablet and desktop Windows 8 operating system.
