Vodafone has announced a competition to find the best (most innovative and useful) mobile applications or ‘widgets’. There’s a total prize fund of one million Euro, with €100,000 available for the overall winner. Firstly, there’ll be eight country-wide heats in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Greece. The winner in each country will receive €25,000 and will be entered into the pan-European final. The eight finalists will then face a public vote, with the overall winner being given €75,000. And when it’s finished, Vodafone says it’ll do the same next year.
