Vodafone UK says it now has 500,000 customers on its ‘Red 4G’ plans, just six months after launching its 4G mobile phone service.

It’s currently providing 4G service to 36% of the UK population.

Vodafone introduces 'Sure Signal Premium' indoor booster for UK businesses

Vodafone UK has launched a ‘Sure Signal Premium’ service that’s capable of providing 3G coverage throughout a workplace, regardless of the outdoor coverage availability. Faster 4G service is due to become available in some areas from the summer.

The service, which Vodafone describes as the first enterprise-grade indoor mobile coverage solution of its kind in the UK, has been developed in partnership with NEC and SpiderCloud Wireless.

UK mobile networks have now all have met their requirements for 3G coverage

UK communication regulator Ofcom has announced that all the UK’s major mobile phone networks are now covering 90% of UK homes with 3G service.

All were required to cover 90% of the UK population with 3G service by 30th June 2013. However, calculations published by Ofcom in November showed that Vodafone had only reached 88.66% coverage.

Weve launches beta version of its mobile display advertising service

Weve - the mobile marketing and mobile wallet business launched in 2011 as a joint venture by EE, O2 and Vodafone - has launched a beta version of its mobile display advertising service.

The company says this means it’s just one of a few organisations that can use verified first-party data to deliver targeted mobile display advertising.
