Vodafone introduces 'Sure Signal Premium' indoor booster for UK businesses

Vodafone UK has launched a ‘Sure Signal Premium’ service that’s capable of providing 3G coverage throughout a workplace, regardless of the outdoor coverage availability. Faster 4G service is due to become available in some areas from the summer.

The service, which Vodafone describes as the first enterprise-grade indoor mobile coverage solution of its kind in the UK, has been developed in partnership with NEC and SpiderCloud Wireless.

Cisco anticipates global mobile data traffic will increase almost 11-fold by 2018

But more than half will be carried on WiFi rather than cellular

Cisco’s Visual Networking Index report, which forecasts mobile data traffic for the next four years, anticipates an almost 11-fold increase in global mobile data from 2013 to 2018.

A total of 190 exabytes of data (190 billion gigabytes) is expected to be consumed on mobile devices in 2018; that’s the equivalent of every person on earth streaming a YouTube video clip every day.

EE and Three reportedly agree a sharing deal for 4G services in the UK

The Financial Times reports that EE and Three have agreed an infrastructure-sharing deal for their 4G networks in the UK.

It’s expected to speed-up the rollout of 4G technology whilst also reducing costs.
