We’ve had Everything Everywhere launching the UK’s first 4G LTE trial in a corner of Cornwall - and now O2 is switching on the UK’s largest LTE network trial.
It’s set up a 4G network in London and will be running it as a trial for the next 9 months.

LG Electronics has reported financial results for the three-month period ending 30th September 2011.
It says sales were affected by the sluggish global economy, with losses on investments leading to a quarterly net loss. However, it notes that cost controls and efficiency improvements meant operating income improved for all its four companies compared with the same period last year.

The latest member of the Motorola RAZR family has been announced by Motorola Mobility.
It’s just 7.1mm deep with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED screen and will run Android 2.3.5 on a dual-core 1.2GHz processor. The rear-facing camera captures 8-megapixel photos and 1080p video.

Everything Everywhere and BT Wholesale have started their live trial of next generation 4G LTE broadband in the UK.
The two companies are working with Nokia Siemens Networks and Huawei to provide wireless broadband to around 200 customers in the St Newlyn East and south Newquay area of Cornwall.

Analyst firm Berg Insight says HSPA and LTE mobile technology accounted for 20.6% of the total number of broadband connections on PCs and tablets in Europe at the end of 2010.
The number of mobile broadband subscribers grew by 33% year-on-year in 2010 to 33.9 million and is expected to keep growing to 96 million by 2016. In North America the figures were lower, with mobile broadband accounting for just 13.2% of the total number of connections.
