No prizes for guessing which two mobile tech stories grabbed most of the headlines last week. Tuesday morning saw Nokia’s much-rumoured tablet and phablet launches, with a Windows RT device and two 6-inch smartphones joining the company’s product portfolio.

Apple has announced the fifth generation of its iPad tablet: the iPad Air.
It features a similar 9.7-inch ‘Retina’ display to the previous model but is thinner and lighter, just 7.5mm deep and weighing 469g.

Nokia has used its Nokia World event in Abu Dhabi to announce six new devices.
The biggest news is the company’s first Windows tablet - the Lumia 2520, which runs Windows RT 8.1. There are also two ‘phablet’ smartphones plus three lower-spec Asha handsets.

Amazon has confirmed that its recently-announced Kindle HDX tablets will be coming to the UK next month.
The 7-inch Kindle Fire HDX will cost from £199 while the 8.9-inch version will cost from £329.
