Less than six months after launching its Android application, mobile browser company Skyfire says over one million consumers have downloaded the Skyfire mobile browser to their Android phones. Skyfire is currently in the top 0.02% of all products in the Android Marketplace.

Mobile analytics and payment company Bango Inc says the volume of mobile web browsing from Android phones grew by 400% in the USA between Q1 and Q2 2010. The volume of growth from Apple devices was just 13% during the same period.

Google has introduced two new features for the ‘Froyo’ Android 2.2 mobile operating system today. It’s added a new Chrome to Phone extension to its desktop Chrome web browser that synchronises information - a web page, map, YouTube video, selected phone number or text - to an Android device.

Users of the BOLT mobile browser now have access to GetJar’s entire library of over 70,000 free mobile applications via a GetJar branded link on the 'favourites' page.
It's the result of a deal between BOLT's developer Bitstream Inc and GetJar, the world's second-largest app store.

ABI Research has calculated that 3.8 billion mobile handsets will contain mobile web browsers by 2015. That's slightly more than 60% of all mobile phones in 2015… and is double today's penetration of mobile browsers. In addition, the number of full internet browsers is expected to exceed that of proxy-based browsers in 2012.
