ChaCha – a US-based service that answers questions sent via SMS text, online, Twitter, voice, Facebook and mobile apps – has just picked up $3 million of new funding that includes $900,000 from Qualcomm Ventures.

Telecoms regulator Ofcom has published a consultation on tackling confusion over the cost of calling non-geographic UK telephone numbers. These are numbers that don’t have an area code, such as those beginning with 03, 08, 09 and 118.

Three UK has cut the prices of calling international mobiles and landlines from the UK for ‘pay as you go’ customers. It’s extended the ‘prefix’ service it introduced in April, offering discounted calls to 25 destinations.
