ChaCha – a US-based service that answers questions sent via SMS text, online, Twitter, voice, Facebook and mobile apps – has just picked up $3 million of new funding that includes $900,000 from Qualcomm Ventures. In total, the company has now raised approximately $75 million.

ChaCha has answered over a billion questions since launching five years ago and currently sees almost 32 million unique users every month. Questions are answered by community members known as ‘guides’.

Scott Jones, ChaCha’s CEO, said “ChaCha is pleased to welcome Qualcomm to its list of top-tier individual and institutional investors. As one of the world’s leading wireless technology companies, Qualcomm maintains a broad array of partnerships spanning the wireless industry.
