France Telecom-Orange has announced an agreement to sell Orange Switzerland to investment group Apax Partners in a deal worth 2 billion Swiss Francs (£1.37 billion).
The arrangement is subject to regulatory approval.

France Télécom-Orange and the Publicis Groupe advertising business are planning to launch a new venture capital fund.
The fund - which is starting with a 150 million Euro investment from the two companies - will help budding entrepreneurs in Europe’s digital economy. Additional funding from other investors is expected to bring total funding to 300 million Euro.

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 and BlackBerry Curve 9360 smartphones have been announced as the first SIM-based NFC smartphones to be certified by MasterCard Worldwide as PayPass-approved devices.
It means that any bank issuing MasterCard PayPass credit or debit cards will be able to deploy MasterCard PayPass-enabled accounts to the SIM card of these smartphones.

Deutsche Telekom and France Télécom-Orange say their procurement joint venture called BUYIN will commence operations on Monday. Volker Pyrtek, previously Chief Procurement Officer at Deutsche Telekom, will be the new managing director.
Around 1.3 billion Euro is expected to be saved every year by the joint venture after it’s been running for three years.

Mr Swantee moved from being a non-executive board member to CEO on 1st September as Tom Alexander stepped down.
