Last month we reported on Charles Dunstone’s investment in Swedish mobile payment business iZettle. Today iZettle has launched its product commercially.
Registered users (currently just in Sweden) need to download a free app to their iPad, iPhone or iPod touch and order a plug-in card reader from iZettle. They’re then able to take ‘chip and PIN’ payments whenever they want.

CCS Insight has been looking at tablet usage across Europe, contacting 4,500 tablet owners in France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and the UK - and asking them to complete the survey on their tablet device.
Consumers in the UK were found to be the heaviest users, averaging 2.8 hours a day, with 95% of UK owners using their tablet for at least an hour a day.

Spanish tablet computer producer Nuevas Tecnologías y Energías Catala, which is responsible for the NT-K range of Android devices, has successfully defended its products against Apple in court.
