An ABI Research survey in the USA has revealed that 53% of smartphone users say they already have or soon will use their handsets for mobile banking. In addition, almost half of smartphone users say they have or plan to use their phones to do mobile shopping.

Visa Inc. and Visa Europe have announced the commercial availability of mobile contactless payments. This is the first time in Visa’s history that a mobile contactless payment solution has been included in its list of products available for commercial deployment.
