New Three UK tariffs have no out-of-bundle data charges

Three UK is launching a range of new price plans tomorrow with a fixed data allowance that can’t be exceeded.

Its ‘Essential’ tariffs will include a 250MB data allowance with a guarantee that charging will stop when the limit is reached. Alternatively, the company’s ‘Ultimate’ and ‘The One Plan’ tariffs include unlimited mobile data.

4G doesn't come to Three

Earlier today, Three.co.uk published a blog post headlined “4G comes to Three”. But it hasn’t.

I spent most of this morning here at Mobile World Congress muttering about the blog before returning to it this afternoon. And suddenly it’s changed.

The blog post remains. The headline is completely different. Now we’re told “Three to launch leading edge 3G service”.

Three UK reports six-fold increase in mobile data on New Year's Eve

Three UK is reporting a six-fold increase in the amount of smartphone data on its network during New Year’s Eve 2011.

In a blog post, Nigel Field - Three’s Director of Devices - says the company recorded 14 Terabytes of data on 31st December 2010. On the same day in 2011, usage had increased to 80TB.
