The City of London Corporation has asked Renew London to remove some of its information pods from the Square Mile.
A dozen of the pods, which had advertising screens and also acted as recycling bins, were able to monitor footfall by tracking the unique MAC address of WiFi-connected phones and tablets when people passed.

HTC has announced a new marketing campaign that it’s calling ‘Change’. As part of what it’s describing as “its most powerful marketing campaign to date”, the manufacturer has signed actor Robert Downey Jr on a two-year deal.
The first new HTC ad will be shown on YouTube later this week.

BlackBerry says its board of directors has formed a committee that will “explore strategic alternatives to enhance value and increase scale in order to accelerate BlackBerry 10 deployment”.
It notes this could include joint ventures, strategic partnerships or a sale of the company.
