Bambuser introduces live maps to track mobile video broadcasts

Live video broadcasting service Bambuser has launched a number of updates today.

A new ‘maps’ feature uses Google Maps to show where in the world live broadcasts are being made from. In addition, it’s possible to find broadcasts previously made from a specific location.

Samsung launches its own mobile instant messaging service

Samsung Electronics has announced a free mobile messaging service called ChatON.

It's expected to be rolled out across all major smartphone and feature phone platforms in the next few weeks, enabling users to communicate using text, images, handwritten notes and video. Users can chat one-to-one or in groups.

GSMA launches a SMS spam reporting service

The GSMA, which represents the interests of the worldwide mobile communications industry, has launched its own spam reporting service for text messages. At the moment it's just a pilot scheme and is being operated by AT&T Mobility, Korea Telecom and SFR.

Online security company Cloudmark will operate the GSMA Spam Reporting Service. It'll analyse SMS traffic submitted by customers of participating networks via a short code of '7726', which spells SPAM on most mobile phones.
