Samsung says it expects its quarterly operating profits for Q1 2012 to reach 5.8 trillion won (£3.2 billion), up from 2.95 trillion won a year ago. Revenue is expected to reach 45 trillion won.
The earnings guidance announcement was made ahead of Samsung’s formal quarterly results statement, which is due later this month.

HTC has informed customers that the cloud-based HTCSense.com service to sync smartphone contacts, messages, call history and its ‘footprints’ location service will be discontinued from 30th April 2012.
Customers are being encouraged to download their personal data as a zip file.

Last night HTC revealed a new series of smartphones called simply ‘HTC One’. The new devices run on Android v4.0 with a new version of the HTC Sense user interface.
HTC Sense now offers a set of imaging features called HTC ImageSense along with enhancements to audio quality.
