Microsoft has announced its fourth quarter and full-year financial results.
Quarterly revenue was up 10% year-on-year to $19.90 billion (£13.01 billion), while annual revenue was up 6% to $77.85 billion (£50.91 billion).

LG Electronics says its next flagship smartphone - rumoured to launch early next month - will be known as the G2.
Future smartphones in the same series will carry the ‘G’ premium branding and will drop the ‘Optimus’ name that’s previously been used.

Google has announced its quarterly results for the three months until 30th June 2013. Revenue was up 19% year-on-year to $14.11 billion and net income was up 16% to $3.23 billion, although operating income was down slightly to $3.12 billion.
Revenue at Motorola Mobile increased to $998 million, although operating losses grew to $342 million.

New research from Canalys anticipates more than 5 million smart watches being shipped worldwide next year, which is a 900% increase on this year’s figures.
The company reckons over 330,000 smart watches were shipped last year, with Sony and Motorola leading the market. Over half a million smart watches are expected to ship in 2013.

Nokia has published interim results for its April-June financial period and also for the first half of 2013.
Net sales for the quarter were down 24% year-on-year to €5.7 billion (£4.9 billion).
