Cellebrite, which is best known to mobile phone retailers for its smartphone content transfer and fault diagnosis tool, is now adding new diagnostic tools to help identify and eradicate mobile malware.
It’s partnering with security specialist Webroot to integrate Webroot’s Mobile App Reputation Service and URL Classification Service, which has a database that contains millions of mobile application and website anti-malware signatures.

Dixons Retail plc and Carphone Warehouse plc have confirmed they’re are in preliminary discussions about a possible merger.
Dixons operates over 1,100 stores and online services across 16 countries, while Carphone Warehouse has around 2,000 stores but a smaller European footprint.

Mobile payment and advertising partnership Weve has announced Pouch, a mobile-based ‘loyalty card’ application.
The first company to trial the scheme is the Eat food group.

Japanese online specialist Rakuten, which runs a major e-commerce site in Japan as well as operating the Kobo eBook reader and Play.com brands, has acquired mobile messaging and VoIP company Viber.
The deal is worth $900 million (£538 million).
