Towards the end of last year, O2 became the first UK network to pass on 90p for every £1 donated to charity by SMS. (The remaining 10% covered network and third party costs). This move was echoed by a number of other network operators.
It's now giving 100% of text donations to UK charities by covering the costs itself.

Imagine Communications Group, which is already rolling out '4G' WiMax mobile broadband technology across Ireland, has acquired the Irish operations of US-based rival Clearmax. Imagine expects its WiMax network to cover 90% of Ireland within two years.

LG Electronics has announced results for the three-month period ending 30th June 2010. It reported sales of KRW 14.4 trillion (around £7.8 billion) and operating profit of KRW 126 billion (around £68.1 million). Net profit was down 33% year-on-year.

Secure mobile voice calling provider Cellcrypt has launched a secure conference call service. As well as encrypting the voice call to prevent unauthorised 'listening in', it also authenticates each device to ensure that only authorised people can join the call.
