Ofcom has told Internet Service Providers how it expects them to make sure customers understand how internet traffic is being managed.
The regulator believes existing consumer information about traffic management isn’t clear enough and warns that it may need to legislate if improvements aren’t made.

Telecoms regulator Ofcom has produced a series of maps showing coverage of digital communications services, including outdoor mobile coverage and mobile broadband availability.
The maps have been created from data supplied by communications providers.

Ofcom is reported to be delaying its plans to auction radio spectrum that could be used for 4G mobile phone services.
The auction was originally planned for earlier this year but is now unlikely to take place until late 2012.

UK chancellor George Osborne has announced plans to invest up to £150 million on sites for mobile phone masts and base stations in a bid to improve productivity and connectivity.
He’s aiming to provide mobile phone coverage to 99% of the country, giving 6 million people a better signal.
