A new report by ABI Research expects the m-commerce market to account for 24.4% of overall e-commerce revenue by the end of 2017.
It follows a period of particularly strong growth last year, when the amount of online mobile transactions doubled to $65.6 billion worldwide.

Carphone Warehouse has published an interim management statement for the latest financial quarter, which ended on 30th June 2012. It says sales in its European business, although up 5.7% year-on-year to £776 million, were actually down 2% on a like-for-like basis.
Total connections in Europe were down 17.8% to just under 2 million.

Apple is planning to take over mobile and network security company AuthenTec in a deal that’s said to be worth around $356 million.
