Juniper Research says in-app advertising spend across all mobile devices will reach $7.1 billion (£4.5 billion) by 2015.
That’s almost three times this year’s anticipated figure of $2.4 billion.

Mozilla, the non-profit organisation behind the Firefox web browser, has said it’ll use the ‘Firefox’ brand for its forthcoming HTML5-based mobile operating system. A number of major mobile network operators have already expressed their support for the project.
TCL Communication Technology (which uses the Alcatel One Touch brand) and ZTE plan to produce the first Firefox OS devices.

Last November Adobe Systems announced a restructure that would see the business stop developing its Flash multimedia player for mobile browsers. Instead, it would increase its investment in HTML5 and would work to help developers enable video playback within apps.
It’s now confirmed that the forthcoming ‘Jelly Bean’ version 4.1 update of the Android OS will not have a certified Flash player.

UK workers carry out an average of three weeks’ work at home every year by checking their work email and taking calls - and many of them are using their own mobile device to do this.
A new survey sponsored by ‘bring your own device’ specialists Good Technology showed that 93% of UK working adults continued to work when they’d left the office. On average, each person carried on working for a total of three hours and 31 minutes each week; the equivalent of 23 extra working days every year.
Communications infrastructure company Arqiva has agreed to acquire UK-based WiFi operator Spectrum Interactive. The deal, which will enable Arqiva to accelerate the development of its wholesale mobile data business, is worth £23.4 million.
All employees of Spectrum Interactive are expected to join Arqiva.
