Report says damage to Samsung Galaxy SIII was caused by external source

Last month it was reported that a Samsung Galaxy SIII smartphone had emitted “a white flame, sparks and a bang”, according to an online report by a Dublin-based student.

An investigation by Fire Investigations UK has now concluded that the damage was caused by an external energy source, noting “the device was not responsible for the cause of the fire” and revealing that the moisture detection patch had been removed from the device.

Samsung forecasts a good quarter, while HTC warns of profit fall

Samsung Electronics has published its pre-earnings guidance for the second quarter of 2012.

It estimates that sales revenue will reach around 47 trillion Won and operating profit will be approximately 6.7 trillion Won (£3.8 billion), which would be a 79% year-on-year increase.

Telefónica Digital has announced a number of significant developments in its ‘beyond connectivity’ strategy during an Investor Conference in London this week.

It’s revealed a number of major ‘direct to bill’ payment agreements, it’s entered a partnership with UAE-based network Etisalat and it’s using its experience from O2 Media to boost mobile advertising in Brazil.
