Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom has published a blog post explaining more about the company’s revised terms & conditions. The new Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, which were previewed earlier this week, link Instagram more closely with Facebook.
Facebook acquired the photo-sharing service earlier this year.

Twitter has added the option of eight special-effect photo filters to its iPhone and Android applications.
The announcement comes shortly after photo sharing service Instagram removed a feature that enabled users’ photographs to automatically preview within a ‘Tweet’.

The number of people receiving coupons via their mobile phones is expected to rise by 30% next year, according to a new report from Juniper Research. That means more than 500 million people worldwide are expected to have a coupon on their phone in 2013.
Integrating coupon applications with social networks is expected to drive some of this increase, as is Apple’s recent introduction of its Passbook ticket app.

Research from the International Data Corporation shows that consumers are moving away from using PCs as their default device for internet usage and are favouring mobile technology instead.
In 2015, IDC expects the number of consumers accessing the internet through mobile devices in the USA to exceed PC-based internet use. Western Europe and Japan are thought to be around two years behind this trend.

Facebook has published its financial results for the third quarter of 2012, reporting a 32% increase in revenue to $1.262 billion (£782 million) but a quarterly loss of $59 million.
Revenue from advertising was $1.09 billion, a 36% increase from the same quarter last year.
