RIM has used the first day of the BlackBerry World 2011 event to announce two new BlackBerry Bold smartphones: the Bold 9900 and Bold 9930.
They're the first touch-screen BlackBerry Bold models and are also the first to run the BlackBerry 7 operating system. Both will be available from the summer.

Westminster Abbey will have mobile phone signal blockers installed for the Royal Wedding, according to a report on the Yahoo! Shine web site.
It says the decision has been approved by the police, with signal jammers switched on throughout the wedding.

Pete Warden and Alasdair Allan have told the Where 2.0 conference in San Francisco that Apple's iPhone monitors and records its location as it's used.

The Indian government is asking the country's mobile networks not to support Nokia's new email service without implementing a monitoring system. It's previously asked RIM to provide a similar option for BlackBerry email users.
