Nokia appoints Sean Fernback to head its HERE mapping and location business

Nokia has announced that Sean Fernback will be taking over as president of its HERE mapping business from 1st November.

He’ll be taking over from Cliff Fox, who’d been appointed as an interim leader after CEO Michael Halbherr left in August.

By 2020 there'll be four internet-connected devices for every person in the world

A new report from Strategy Analytics shows that almost 12 billion internet-connected devices will be in use around the world by the end of this year; the equivalent of 1.7 devices for every person.

However, growth in machine-to-machine connections for the ‘Internet of Things’ is expected to result in this ratio increasing dramatically in the next six years.

Apple quarterly results show iPhone sales up but iPad sales down

Apple has announced financial results for the fourth quarter of its 2014 financial year, which ended on 27th September.

Quarterly revenue was up 12% year-on-year to $42.1 billion (£26 billion), while net profit was up to $8.5 billion.
