Nokia picks Microsoft man as new president and CEO

It's farewell on 20th September to Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, who'll be leaving his position as President and CEO of Nokia with a severance package of salary, incentives and shares that tops 5 million Euro. However, he'll still be seen at Nokia Siemens Networks, where he'll remain non-executive chairman.

Quarterly results for HP and Dell

HP has reported quarterly results that show net revenue up 11.4% year-on-year to $30.7 billion for the last full quarter that former CEO Mark Hurd was in charge.

Microsoft announces new games for Windows Phone 7

New smartphones running the Windows Phone 7 operating system are expected within just a few weeks. In anticipation, Microsoft has announced a batch of around 50 mobile games at gaming showcase gamescom 2010 – and has also explained more about the way their phones will link with the Xbox LIVE online service. As well as new games and versions of popular classics there'll also be companion titles to familiar Xbox 360 games.

HP to only use webOS in smartphones

Hewlett-Packard, which announced a takeover of Palm earlier this year, says future HP smartphones will only run the webOS operating system.

In an interview with CNBC, HP Executive Vice President Todd Bradley said his company will continue to work with Microsoft but will only use the Palm-designed webOS for new smartphone devices.
