Google has revealed details of a behind-the-scenes security service called ‘Bouncer’.
It automatically scans applications in the Android Market to identify whether they are likely to behave maliciously when installed on a user’s smartphone.

Speciality glass business Corning and Samsung Mobile Display, part of the Samsung group, have signed an agreement to set up a new business that’ll produce glass substrates for the organic light emitting diode (OLED) device market.
The new business will be based in South Korea and will supply OLED backplane glass substrates for Samsung Mobile Display and the broader market, from handheld devices to televisions.

India’s Supreme Court has cancelled 122 licences awarded to mobile network operators in 2008.
It described the original award process as “arbitrary and unconstitutional”; a number of people involved in the licence auction have been arrested and are awaiting trial.

Orange Austria is to be sold to Hutchison 3G Austria, subject to regulatory approval.
France Telecom-Orange currently owns 35% of the business, while Mid Europa Partners controls 65%. Both parties have agreed to sell their combined stakes to Hutchison.
