It seems only a couple of months ago that Darth Vader, Lord of the Sith, left the fictional Star Wars universe and started working for Currys and PC World. He’d obviously been pursuing the C3PO and R2D2 robots that had appeared in his employer’s TV advertising a year earlier.
Now it’s Vodafone’s turn to borrow from Star Wars.

Swindon-based mobile and managed communications provider Excalibur Communications has acquired IT services business Bridge Solutions.
The move follows a rebranding exercise and comes just two months after Excalibur agreed to purchase Emnico Enterprises, further reinforcing Excalibur’s position in SME managed services.

Independent mobile ad network InMobi has published its analysis of trends from the past year.
The InMobi Mobile Market 2011 Review shows a 251% increase in mobile impressions on the InMobi network worldwide. Smartphone impressions were up 488% - boosted by the adoption of in-app advertising - with tablet impressions increasing 771% year-on-year.

Digital media company Yahoo! has announced the resignation of Jerry Yang. He co-founded Yahoo! in 1995 with David Filo and had been a board member since March 1995.
Mr Wang was also Yahoo’s CEO from June 2007 until January 2009.
