Microsoft-owned online telephone service Skype has launched a new mobile messaging app using the Qik brand.
Qik was originally a video streaming service that launched in 2007 and was acquired by Skype in 2011.

Google has formally confirmed that the next version of its Android operating system - version 5.0 - will be nicknamed ‘Lollipop’.

UK-based mobile phone manufacturer KAZAM is planning to launch the world’s thinnest smartphone next month.
The KAZAM Tornado 348 is only 5.15mm deep, yet offers a 4.8-inch (1280 x 780) display and runs Android v4.4.2 on a MediaTek Octa-core 1.7GHz processor.

Samsung Electronics says it’s developed WiFi technology for the 60GHz spectrum that’s capable of transferring data five times faster than existing consumer equipment.
Data speeds of up to 4.6Gbps have been achieved by Samsung, which is more than a five-fold increase from the current maximum of 866Mbps.
