Qualcomm agrees to acquire UK-based chip business CSR

Qualcomm Incorporated has agreed to acquire UK-based semiconductor business CSR plc.

CSR, which was previously known as Cambridge Silicon Radio, specialises in Voice and Music, Document Imaging, Automotive Infotainment, Bluetooth Smart and Indoor Location products.

UK-based mobile phone manufacturer KAZAM is planning to launch the world’s thinnest smartphone next month.

The KAZAM Tornado 348 is only 5.15mm deep, yet offers a 4.8-inch (1280 x 780) display and runs Android v4.4.2 on a MediaTek Octa-core 1.7GHz processor.
