Sony Ericsson will add new functionality and features to its 2011 Xperia smartphone range with a software upgrade from October 2011.
The company says customers with one of this year's Android-powered Xperia smartphones will receive enhanced camera features including '3D sweep panorama technology', enabling 3D images to be captured and then viewed on a 3D TV by using the phone’s HDMI output.

Sony Ericsson has announced a new Android smartphone called 'Live with Walkman'.
The Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman features a dedicated Walkman button that provides instant access to the music player. There's also Facebook integration that allows consumers to 'like' and share tunes, plus there's Sony's Qriocity service offering access to millions of songs and thousands of movies.

Sony Ericsson has announced the appointment of Yoshihisa (Bob) Ishida as Deputy CEO and Executive Vice President with effect from 1st September.
Meanwhile, Chief Creation Officer Rikko Sakaguchi - who's been with the joint venture since it was established in 2001 - is leaving to take up a position at Sony Corporation.

PopCap Games has signed an agreement to pre-load a number of its games on Sony Ericsson Xperia mini and Xperia mini pro smartphones, marking the 'official' arrival of PopCap games on Android devices in Europe.
The deal will roll out later this summer, with the full version of Chuzzle being pre-installed along with unlimited trial versions of other games, such as Peggle and Plants vs Zombies.
