Android-based Google Music store opens in USA

Earlier this year, Google launched a beta version of Google Music to a number of customers in the USA. It allowed users to upload their personal music collection to ‘the cloud’ and stream it to any of their Android mobile devices or their computer, with some offline playback available as well.

The company has now launched a public version of Google Music, which includes a music store offering over 13 million tracks.

Redesigned Samsung Galaxy Tab back on sale in Germany

In September we reported that Apple’s injunction against the Galaxy Tab 10.1 had been upheld by the Düsseldorf Regional Court , preventing Samsung from selling its tablet in Germany.

Samsung has now launched a renamed and redesigned tablet.

Apple announces new company chairman

Apple has named Arthur ‘Art’ Levinson as the Company’s non-executive Chairman of the Board. He’s been a board director for over ten years and has been a co-lead director since 2005.

The company also announced that Robert ‘Bob’ Iger, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company, will join Apple’s board and will serve on the audit committee.
