Mobile technology company Myriad Group has revealed version 2.0 of Myriad Alien Dalvik.
The original release allowed Android apps to run on non-Android smartphones; Alien Dalvik 2.0 enables Android applications to run on other platforms as well, such as tablets, eBook readers, TVs and in-car devices.

Apple has announced the death of its executive chairman and co-founder, Steve Jobs. He was 56.
Current Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the message to staff with an email that said “Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.”

Branding consultancy Interbrand has released the 12th version of its Best Global Brands report. Once again, Coca-Cola is rated as the world’s most-valuable brand at $71,861 million (around £46.5 billion).
In fact, the top seven brands remain in the same places as they did in 2010; after Coca-Cola comes IBM, then Microsoft, Google, GE, McDonald’s and Intel.

T-Mobile’s online, press and poster campaign that described its inclusive data deals as ‘truly unlimited internet’ have been blocked by the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority.
Each of the advertisements talked about ‘truly unlimited internet’ but contained terms & conditions that said the mobile phone couldn’t be used for ‘tethering’ as a modem, for peer-to-peer file sharing or for making VoIP telephone calls.
