Sandwich franchise Subway has launched a discount voucher scheme within the O2 More 'You Are Here' location-based advertising service.
Customers who've opted-in to receive marketing information will receive a MMS message when they're near a Subway store. The message will offer a discount and will contain a square barcode - a QR code - that can be scanned by store staff.

A new report from Juniper Research predicts that one billion smartphones will be shipped in 2016, up from 302 million last year.
That's more than a 230% increase, putting smartphones ahead of feature phones.

Lenovo has announced a family of tablets that'll be available in the next few months. There'll be the consumer-focussed IdeaPad Tablet K1, the business-targeted ThinkPad Tablet and the IdeaPad Tablet P1 for home and office use.
The IdeaPad Tablet K1 and ThinkPad Tablets will run Android 'Honeycomb' v3.1, while the Tablet P1 will use Microsoft Windows 7.

PopCap Games has signed an agreement to pre-load a number of its games on Sony Ericsson Xperia mini and Xperia mini pro smartphones, marking the 'official' arrival of PopCap games on Android devices in Europe.
The deal will roll out later this summer, with the full version of Chuzzle being pre-installed along with unlimited trial versions of other games, such as Peggle and Plants vs Zombies.
