Samsung Electronics says its new slim tablet, the Galaxy Tab 10.1, will be available in the UK on 4th August 2011. It'll launch with Android v3.1 and will be offered in 3G+WiFi and WiFi-only versions.
As the name suggests, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 has a 10.1-inch WXGA TFT LCD screen.

Google has announced the launch of a new service called Google+ ('Google Plus'). It's currently an invitation-only trial with "some rough edges", according to the company.
The Google+ project is seen by many as an alternative to Facebook, enabling users to create 'Circles' of friends.

US-based mobile payment service Square, which lets retailers use an Apple or Android device to accept credit card payments, has just raised $100 million in new funding.
It's also announced that technology analyst Mary Meeker is joining the board.
