The Vodafone Foundation charity has launched the EU Smart Accessibility Awards, offering a €200,000 prize fund to application developers who help improve the lives of older people and people with disabilities across the European Union.

Carphone Warehouse Group plc has published its preliminary results for the financial year ended 31st March 2011.
It says its share of Best Buy Europe's net income was up 28% year-on-year to £60.4 million, while CPW Europe grew 18% to £134.6 million. However, Best Buy UK saw a loss of £62.2 million.

Nokia has signed a patent license agreement with Apple that'll see all patent litigation settled between the companies.
The specific terms of the contract are confidential, although there'll be a one-off payment payable by Apple and on-going royalties paid by Apple to Nokia for the term of the agreement.

Qualcomm Incorporated has agreed to acquire Rapid Bridge LLC, a San Diego-based semiconductor technology business.
The deal is expected to be completed by the end of the 2011 financial year.
